그리고 Drummer John Densmore....
이들 네 젊은이로 이루어진 그룹 the Doors는 외워서 따라 부르기 쉽지만
그 안에는 진지함이 깃들여져 있는 노래들로1960년대 중반을 풍미했던
강력한 카리스마의 그룹이었다.
공평하지 않게 Jim Morrison만이 항상 언론의 주목을 받지만...
그러면서도 불화가 없이 꾸준한 조화를 이뤄가며 노래를 발표했던 Doors...
(사실 Jim Morrison이 변덕스런 행동으로 많은 기삿거리를 제공하기도 했다.)
1966년 이래로 많은 활동을 하던 그들은 결국 Jim Morrison이 알코올과 마약남용에
빠져서 Paris에서 목욕통안의 사체로 발견되면서 남은 멤버들이 두개의 앨범을
더 내놓긴 했지만 끝장이 났다.
그만큼 그의 카리스마와 영향력이 강했다고 볼 수 있겠다.
하지만 남은 멤버들이 1978년 한차례 다시 모여 공연을 했을 뿐이지만
이후 1980년대에 이르러서 Jim Morrison의 전기가 나오고 새로운 세대들로
이루어진 팬들이 생겨나서 그들의 음악을 찾으면서 전설속에서 살아나게 되고
1990년대에는 Oliver Stone이 그들의 이야기를 영화화 하기도 했으나 실패했다.
이것은 그들의 매력은 쉽게 표현하기 어려운 것임을 입증한데에 지나지 않는다.
